About Houndyear

Bianca is the founder and editor of Houndyear.
She grew up surrounded by dogs and never stopped — there's always at least one head resting on her feet while she works. Houndyear was born from that everyday closeness: a curiosity about how dogs age, what science says about their too-short lives, and how to make every year count.
Every guide on the site is grounded in peer-reviewed veterinary research and written with the warmth dog parents deserve.
