Editorial Disclosure

How Houndyear stays free, what funds it, and how we keep editorial decisions independent.

Advertising

Houndyear displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Ad placements are clearly distinguished from editorial content via labels and visual treatment.

Google selects which ads to show based on factors like page content and (with consent) browsing history. We do not curate individual advertisers. Ad revenue helps support the free, source-cited content on this site.

Affiliate partnerships

At present, Houndyear has no affiliate partnerships. We do not earn commissions from product recommendations. The guides and breed pages do not promote specific brands of dog food, supplements, or veterinary services.

If we add affiliate links in the future, every such link will be clearly marked, and a section here will describe the relationship.

Editorial independence

Our editorial decisions — what to write about, what research to cite, what conclusions to draw — are made independently of advertiser influence. Advertisers do not review or approve content before publication. They have no say in our citations, recommendations, or wording.

When research is uncertain or contested, we say so. When AKC sources are used (typically for breed popularity rankings), we note their weaker E-E-A-T standing compared to peer-reviewed veterinary journals.

Corrections

If you spot an error — a misquoted study, an outdated statistic, a broken citation — please let us know. We take corrections seriously and update content promptly when warranted.
